The famous cat mystery author Lilian Jackson Braun who wrote 29 books in the “Cat’s Who” series, passed away June 4, 2011 in South Carolina, at the age of 97. Lilian worked for The Detroit Free Press for 30 years, while publishing her famous series. Her last book, “The Cat Who Had 60 Whiskers” was published in 2007. Her books featured Jim Qwilleran and his Siamese cats, Koko and Yum Yum, and were regulars on the New York Times bestseller lists. They were translated into 16 languages, and were written in longhand, then typed by Ms. Braun herself.
